2018-2019 Enrollment

Crossroads Charter Schools is accepting applications for grades K-10 for the 2018-19 school year.  We are partnering with SchoolMint an online platform for enrollment.

The enrollment deadline for the 2018-2019 lottery was on March 1, 2018. Students applying now are being placed on a waitlist.  You can learn more about our lottery process below.

All families enrolling at Crossroads Charter Schools must live within the Kansas City Public Schools district boundaries. Among these families, priority is given in the following order:

  1. Children of staff
  2. Siblings of currently enrolled students
  3. Families that either live or work in the Greater Downtown Area (State Line to Prospect and the Missouri River to 39th Street) This priority is applicable through March 1.

Crossroads Families share why they chose Crossroads Charter Schools in this video.

Student Lottery Process

Crossroads Charter Schools holds an annual student lottery in order to enroll new students. The lottery is held after the March 1 open enrollment deadline. In order to be included in the lottery you must submit a completed enrollment application via SchoolMint by March 1.

The lottery drawing is used to fill available spaces for enrollment. After the available spaces are filled, the remaining names go onto a waiting list.

Sibling preference: Crossroads Charter Schools and its families benefit from keeping families together. For this reason, Crossroads Charter Schools offer an admissions sibling preference. To receive sibling preference in the lottery, parents or guardians must submit a completed enrollment application via SchoolMint by March 1.

Greater Downtown preference: Crossroads Charter Schools offer admissions preference to families residing within KCPS district boundaries that live or work in the Greater Downtown Area. (State Line to Prospect and the Missouri River to 39th Street) In order to receive this preference, parents or guardians must submit a completed enrollment application and upload proof of residency or employment within the priority zone via SchoolMint by March 1.

Wait List: Crossroads Charter Schools maintains a wait list for all grades. To make sure all children are treated fairly, we use the following process:

  • Assign a number to each child on the waiting list by lottery.
  •  Following the lottery, all parents/guardians will receive notification of their child's wait list number.
  •  When a spot becomes available, the student with the lowest wait list number in that particular grade, will receive an enrollment offer.
  • Once the offer is extended, parents/guardians have 7 days to accept the offer, complete SchoolMint forms, upload documents and have their child in attendance at Crossoroads.
  • To make sure we can get in touch with you, please update us regarding any changes in email or phone number.

Crossroads Charter Schools wait list is valid for only one school year. A family must submit a new enrollment application via SchoolMint each school year.

Please note: It is possible for your student to move down the wait list. This can occur when a student in a different grade accepts an open spot. His or her sibling can then jump up the wait list into a Sibling Priority spot towards the top of the list.
