Applications for enrollment are submitted via SchoolAppKC. Our school has committed to be a part of SchoolAppKC which is a common application platform. We believe that making applying to schools more equitable and accessible for all families is an important part of making sure all families in Kansas City have the greatest access to high quality education for their children.

Student Lottery Process

Crossroads Charter Schools holds an annual student lottery in order to enroll new students. In order to be included in the lottery, you must submit a completed enrollment application via SchoolAppKC by February 22nd. The lottery will take place on March 1st.

The lottery drawing is used to fill available spaces for enrollment. After the available spaces are filled, the remaining names go onto a waiting list.

Sibling preference: Crossroads Charter Schools and its families benefit from keeping families together. For this reason, Crossroads Charter Schools offer an admissions sibling preference. To receive sibling preference in the lottery, parents or guardians must submit a completed enrollment application via SchoolAppKC by February 22nd.

Greater Downtown preference: Crossroads Charter Schools offer admissions preference to families residing within KCPS district boundaries that live or work in the Greater Downtown Area. (State Line to Prospect and the Missouri River to 39th Street) In order to receive this preference, parents or guardians must submit a completed enrollment application and upload proof of residency or employment within the priority zone via SchoolAppKC by February 22nd.

Waitlist: Crossroads Charter Schools maintains a waitlist for all grades. Crossroads admits new students during the first, second and third quarters of each school year. To make sure all children are treated fairly, we use the following process:

  • Assign a number to each child on the waiting list by lottery.
  • Following the lottery, all parents/guardians will receive notification of their child's waitlist number.
  •  When a spot becomes available, the student with the lowest waitlist number in that particular grade will receive an enrollment offer.
  • Once the offer is extended, parents/guardians have 7 days from the acceptance date to complete SchoolMint forms, upload documents and have their child in attendance at Crossroads.
  • To make sure we can get in touch with you, please update us regarding any changes in email or phone number.

Crossroads Charter Schools waitlist is valid for only one school year. A family must submit a new enrollment application via SchoolAppKC each school year.

Please note: It is possible for your student to move down the waitlist. This can occur when a student in a different grade accepts an open spot. His or her sibling can then jump up the waitlist into a Sibling Priority spot towards the top of the list.
