A student art exhibit at the American Jazz Museum
1616 E. 18th Street, KCMO
May 5, 2017, 4:30 to 9:00pm
Please join in this community-wide celebration of our young artists! Crossroads on The Vine will be held at the American Jazz Museum and will feature one piece of art from each of our 576 scholars. Crossroads on The Vine will be part of a larger First Fridays celebration. First Fridays at 18th & Vine is sponsored by the American Jazz Museum and features live jazz, food trucks, and many local vendors. The American Jazz Museum and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will be open and free to the public throughout the evening.
Crossroads on The Vine is a culminating event for Crossroads Charter Schools’ Visual and Creative Arts programs. Crossroads students spend a minimum of two hours per week in art studios studying curriculum based on the elements and principles of design. The program strives to help students develop their visual literacy skills so they have a greater understanding and appreciation of art. Each year the schools celebrate the year of learning through this community event, but this year will be the best yet!
Original student art pieces will be available for purchase for $20 each. We will also be selling raffle tickets for $5 each or 5 for $20. Raffle prizes are 2 NASCAR tickets to the Go Bowling 400 (in suite with parking pass and access to fan walk), rain barrel adorned with student art, and artwork by Scribe, Shel Asher, and Aimee Adams. All proceeds will benefit Crossroads Charter Schools.
Students are encouraged to attend with their families. The event is free and open to the public.
